A new report by the UK Meteorological Office is predicting that CO2 levels in 2019 will rise more steeply than originally predicted due to less carbon dioxide being absorbed by terrestrial vegetation and the oceans.
Increasing acidity and pollution is reducing the ability of our oceans to absorb CO2 produced by human activity, as is continued acceleration in the rate of deforestation. Further incidence of extreme weather conditions should be an expected consequence of failure to reduce carbon emissions.
