UN resolves to make the world pollution free

In December 2017, world leaders and Environment Ministers from 193 countries signed up to non-binding commitments to rid the world of the pollutants that threaten our air, land, oceans and biodiversity.

While a significant step, the actions that have ensued speak louder than the platitudes of the bureaucrats. One of the world's greatest polluters, the USA, has withdrawn from the Paris Agreement on climate change and has sanctioned a massive increase in drilling for oil and gas. Carbon dioxide emissions continue to rise globally, and the populations of thousands of species of our biodiversity are plummeting.
